Prince Harry spoke about how Princess Diana always wanted to protect him and his brother Prince William from the prying eyes of the media. However, she failed to protect her own privacy following her divorce from now King Charles III. Being surrounded by the press was nothing new for the Princess after her marriage to the royal Prince. However, the situation became worse after the much-talked-about separation.
Prince Harry reflects on the hardships of Princess Diana in Harry & Meghan
The Duke of Sussex revealed how his mother was by herself after her divorce from his father. There was no protection from the Palace and Princess Diana often found herself being hounded by the press. Harry & Meghan displayed videos of the late royal being swarmed by the paparazzi every time she stepped out of the home.
Prince Harry is literally doing for Meghan what Charles DIDN'T do for Princess Diana, all of which ultimately led to her early death. Personally, I think Diana's cheering H and M all the way. As she should. Your revisionism is wild. https://t.co/Qn0wksIHho

“My mum was harassed throughout her life with my dad. But after they separated, the harassment went to new levels. Yeah, she may have been one of the most influential, powerful women in the world, but she was completely exposed to this,” Prince Harry said in the Netflix docuseries.
The Duke revealed how seeing the suffering of his mother because of the media made him scared about his wife. He was doubtful about finding any woman who would not be driven away by the brutal press in UK. “I saw things, I experienced things, I learned things. The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution,” the royal Prince was quoted as saying in the first episode.
Notably, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also included clips from Princess Diana’s interviews where she had revealed being uncomfortable because of the constant intrusion from the media.
