The streaming platform did not disappoint as Markle’s mother came on global television for the first time to speak about her daughter and son-in-law.

Doria Ragland plays an important role in the former American actress’ life. She formed the backbone of the Duchess while she was pregnant with Archie and Lilibet. Ragland lives close to the Sussexes’ Montecito home and looks after her grandchildren whenever the royal couple is away. Doria Ragland labels Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship as a novelty

In the second episode of Harry & Meghan, Doria Ragland revealed how was her first meeting with the Duke of Sussex. The former yoga instructor mentioned that she could only say three words, “Oh my God” when Markle told her about dating the royal prince. Reflecting on her impression of the Sussex royal, Ragland exclaimed that she found him good-looking and instantly approved her daughter’s choice. 

“You know, he was just like 6’1, a handsome man with red hair, and really great manners. They looked really happy together, like he was the one. Once it was announced that they were together, it seemed a kind of like a novelty,” the former makeup artist said in the docuseries.

Her mother’s consent was important for Meghan Markle, considering she is the only active parent. The Duchess is not on good terms with her father, Thomas Markle. The retired director of photography is yet to meet his son-in-law as he gave the royal wedding a miss in 2018. 

Further, Doria Ragland also reflected on how the past five years have not been easy. She even slammed her ex-husband Thomas Markle for staging photographs with the British media before his daughter’s grand wedding.
