Documentaries of world-class personalities come and go. But the Netflix bombshell Harry & Meghan is here to stay. Released last year in the chilly winters, the couple’s tell-all docuseries put forward the frosty relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with the rest of the family members. The six-part-docuseries came along with some massive revelations about the royal family and it seems like the world could not move on from it yet. Having set the record for Netflix as the most-watched documentary series ever, the Liz Garbus-directed Sussex story still has a lot to shed light on about the Duke and the Duchess. 

For all we know, this isn’t the first time Liz Garbus went candid about her experience. Nonetheless, to dig further, Envelope recently had an interview with the directors, as reported by the LA Times. The Oscar-nominated director and Chanel Pysnik, connected via a Zoom call to further discuss the intricate details of filming the series. While the crux of the entire conversation was about the overall shooting, Garbus shed light on certain never heard stories about the couple. For instance, she revealed what was about the Duke and the Duchess that surprised her. 

One segment that caught our attention was how the story was supposed to focus on Prince Harry. But it eventually gripped Markle at the center. Garbus revealed how, as the show wore on, she realized it was much about Prince Harry and his story right from his disturbed childhood that led to a neglected youth. Meghan Markle, as his wife, was a part of this journey. Nonetheless, with the British public labeling Markle for “destroying” the royal status quo, “Meghan really became the face of the blame,” Garbus affirmed.

One of the primary questions that made headlines was the interference of the media in the entire process. While Pysnik elaborated on how it was never the intention, the director was quite straightforward in defying the claims. And so they did. The whole filming was kept under wraps. It was then the American streamer took it to social media platforms to drop the bombshell. Furthermore, the narrative of the Duke and the Duchess aggravated the shocking and unseen clips of the royal family. Collectively, it sent shockwaves around the world.
