Release date for the new Madea Netflix movie
A Madea Homecoming will stream on Netflix on February 25th, 2022.
Since 1999, Perry had been playing the role of Madea, and the era ended with A Madea Family Funeral in 2020, but Perry’s mind changed after the pandemic hit the world. He explains to Variety, “I was done with Madea, completely done with it… But as I’ve been looking at the state of the world — and I finished a tour in January, just before the pandemic started to break in the country — and the amount of joy and laughter that it brought to so many people, that’s what I think is missing. We need that laughter and that joy.”
What can we expect from Madea on Netflix?
The film was filmed and produced last summer at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta with a budget of more than $20 million. This time, the plot centers on, obviously Madea, who is preparing for a feast for her great-grandson’s college graduation. But some family secrets and drama threaten the happiness of the house. Let’s find out if Madea will be successful in bringing together her whole family again.
The character Madea is coming to the silver screen for the 12th time. In a conversation with EW, Tyler Perry explains why he created the new movie. He said, “I was looking at the state of the world and how polarized it is… nobody’s laughing. Nobody’s getting the chance to belly-laugh anymore. And I’m like, ‘What tool do I have in my arsenal that can bring that kind of laughter?” Based on Perry’s statement, we can expect a laughter riot with the new Madea movie.
