“grounds to fire” – Netflix’s ‘Fair Play’ Takes Notes from HR Professionals Months After Its Release
Netflix might be known for always giving their fans what they want, but it looks like those days might be over. After an amazing run of putting out hit after hit, the streaming giant seems to be in somewhat of a creative block at the moment. That is why it has decided to try a different way of entertaining their fans.
Instead of their usual route of adding new films and shows to their library, the streaming giant brought back a film, Fair Play, that came out earlier this year. However, this time they brought in the big guns to break down the problems with the workplace thriller.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Netflix shared a post with its followers. The post featured a clip from a movie called Fair Play. However, the highlight was the fact that they had brought on HR professionals to watch it. Given that the film is R-rated and not safe for work, HR had notes. They watched a scene unfold between two co-workers in the office, thankfully it was just a text scene.
After watching the clip, the members had varying thoughts on the film, but the consensus was the same. They agreed that if something like that had happened in real life it would definitely be “grounds to fire” someone. Whereas another said that the scene had “so many red flags,” and the third person was just in complete disbelief.
While the film may have been a little too out there, there were a lot of social media users who had never seen the film before. Even though some fans wanted to, the clip left everyone a little bit confused.
Netizens react to Netflix’s latest post
Once Netflix posted the video, the streaming platform’s comment section was filled with users who either wanted another show or had questions about the Fair Play. While most people had not heard about the film when it came out in January, most of them still were not too keen on paying attention to it even now.
There were also a few social media users who seemed to be intrigued by the clip Netflix had shared.
However, there were a few people who claimed that the film was a “waste of time.”

While the film came out almost nine months ago, it is a surprise that the giant had not shared something about it a little sooner. With the film garnering mixed emotions when it first came out, it only ended up getting an 87% score from Rotten Tomatoes. Even though it had some rather familiar faces, it ended up fading into the background as Netflix upped its game.
