Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most renowned individuals in the world today. We are no strangers to the legacy the Austrian Oak left behind in the world of bodybuilding and Hollywood as well. On the other side of the spectrum, we have yet another remarkable athlete, LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers star is among some of the most popular athletes who enjoy an iconic career in basketball. Furthermore, it might surprise you to know that both James and Schwarzenegger share a great relationship. While many of us might assume that the duo got together owing to their athletic background, the real reason why Schwarzenegger bonded with King James is a lot more interesting.

Over the years, we witnessed crossovers between various athletes from different sports on multiple occasions. However, the bond that Schwarzenegger and King James share go way beyond the world of sports. As surprising as it sounds, the duo bonded over the common vision they share towards philanthropy.

Back in 2022, the Kindergarten Cop star revealed how the duo got along so well. While speaking to PEOPLE, Schwarzenegger spoke, “I got to know LeBron…not only the one that you see on television when he plays the game…but the character of the guy.” Furthermore, Schwarzenegger added that he was a fan of LeBron’s game as well. The Terminator star also added, “LeBron all of a sudden started coming to our fundraisers,” referring to how the duo’s collaboration started.

Many of you might not know, but Schwarzenegger launched a fund-raising back in 2003. The charity that goes by the name After School All Stars works towards providing better academic as well as athletic programs. It mainly aims for the youth from underprivileged backgrounds. Interestingly, apart from a common vision towards philanthropy, James and Schwarzenegger have similar business interests as well.

Throwback to when LeBron James and Arnold Schwarzenegger owned a sports nutrition brand

Previously, James and Schwarzenegger came together to start a sports nutrition company Ladder in 2018. The main aim of the brand was to provide nutritional products for athletes to minimize cramps. Interestingly, the idea first occurred to James after he suffered a severe cramp during one of his matches.

While attending one of Schwarzenegger’s fundraisers, James spoke to the Terminator star. The duo started talking about food supplements and eventually founded their brand. However, not long ago, the duo sold off their brand to a renowned technology fitness platform OpenFit.
