It was a long time ago when the Ghost In The Shell SAC_2045 season 2 was confirmed to be in production ahead of the first season’s release on Netflix US on April 23, 2020. On February 24, 2022, Netflix finally released the Ghost In The Shell SAC_2045 season 2 trailer and a new poster. Production I.G. and animation studio Sola Digital Arts have produced the Ghost In The Shell SAC 2045 anime, with the former recognized for successful anime like the Psycho-Pass and Haikyuu.

The Ghost In The Shell SAC_2045 revolves around Major Kusanagi and her Section 9 squad. When a “post-human” threat emerges because of sustainable war, they summoned Section 9 squad back into action. The post-human threat is the harm that AI poses to humanity that the public is unaware of.

The specifics of all the returning crew, cast, and some of the new additions being made for the new episodes, such as updated opening and ending tunes, have been highlighted in the trailer and poster for the new season.

 

Netflix has set the release date for the second season of May 2022, during the Spring 2022 anime season. Production I.G.’s directors, Kenji Kamiyama and Shiji Aramaki, are returning. Nobuko Toda and Kazume Jinnochi will compose the music. In terms of the new opening and ending themes, Millennium Parade has confirmed that they will perform both the new opening theme, “Secret Ceremony,” and the new ending theme, “No Time to Cast Anchor.”
