Viewers of Game of Thrones have the images of The Red Keep and Casterly Rock ingrained in their minds. The Witcher is not too far behind in this context either, bringing to life the magnificence if Kaer Morhen and Cintra.
We know that both the series are set in the middle ages of Europe. To replicate the outlook of the same would require the shooting locations to be set across the same continent. Game of Thrones moved from Belfast to Northern Ireland and finally halted at Croatia.
Similarly, the cast and crew of the Netflix Original kept moving between Italy and Slovenia for the shooting of season 3. Their next stop coincides with that of Game of Thrones. While the filming in Croatia hasn’t begun yet, the crew is taking a look at the Croatian islands.
Which part of Croatia are we talking about?
Europe is certainly popular for the tourism opportunities it offers. From rustic countrysides to grand palaces, the continent continues to be the dream tourist destination for many, including fictional characters. Colin Bridgerton from the popular Netflix series Bridgerton also travels across Europe to deal with heartbreak.
Needless to say, the entirety of the continent is captivating. Despite this, the 1100 islands of Croatia have a special place among these destinations.
The most popular among them is Krk Island, currently the only confirmed destination of the cast and crew of The Witcher. Here are some pictures of the beautiful island.
