From Pavetta to Queen Calanthe, Here’s What Ciri’s Vision of ‘The Witcher’ Season 3 Means for the Story
The Witcher fans have been watching Ciri having visions about the upcoming dangers that linked to her future. But the latest season of the show brought one of the biggest twists in it. Season 3 blurred the distinction between reality and her mind when she separated from Geralt and Yennefer. It showed how she traveled through a portal and ended up in the desert of Korath, which she dreamt of many times. During this exhausting passage, she encountered many people from her past, or at least what she assumed them to be.
But the season did not reach the part which could tell viewers about the significance of these interactions. What could these hallucinations mean, and what role these visions of Falka will play in the story further?

The Witcher Season 3 Episode 7 played a crucial role in the character development of Ciri. The princess first encountered her mother, Pavetta, who died when Ciri was young. This vision was created by Falka, a dead Elven princess, to break her spirit. The hallucination of Pavetta claimed the girl was a burden to those who loved her.
It hinted at her newly found family, Geralt, Yennefer, and Jaskier, who were in danger because of their commitment to protect her. So the Lion Cub of Cintra had to make a tough choice between succumbing to her insecurities or fighting back against people who were hungry for their blood. Then came her grandmother Queen Calanthe, who threw a harsh verbal attack on her, saying that she had done nothing to stop the war.
This vision was meant to spark Ciri’s desire to take revenge against humans and ultimately fulfilling the prophecy of doom. Through both these encounters, Falka tried to push Ciri to the edge so she could give up and accept her fate. However, Ciri, who wanted to learn from the mistakes of her ancestors, relinquished her powers. Thus, season 4 might show how this powerful mage would go forward with all this pain and suffering.

Since Ciri got stuck in Korath where she did not have her loved ones to support her, fans saw some sparks of her darker side. She killed that thug in the pub at the end of the season, which showed that her innocence had finally been shed. The Child Surprise now had the blood of a man on her hand, preparing her for the impending events.
It is possible she joins the Rats and becomes a thug like them, looting people to survive in a cruel world exactly like in the books. Although she will not get back her powers for some time as per source material. Therefore, the upcoming season promises more intense and adventurous things for the character until Geralt finds her.
