Netflix has a habit of recasting its popular actors for their new projects. Just like we saw their obsession with Chris Hemsworth and his Extraction films. Now Netflix is doing the same with the highly popular Bridgerton cast. For its newest series, Netflix has chosen Ruby Stokes from Bridgerton.
From Bridgerton to Lockwood & Co
Netflix is currently developing a series to adapt the hit thriller books by Jonathan Stroud, Lockwood & Co. And they have cast Ruby Stokes from Bridgerton among other cast members.
Joining her in the new series will be Cameron Chapman and Ali Hadji-Heshmati in lead roles. Other cast members include Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans), Luke Treadaway (Ordeal by Innocence), and Morven Christie (The Bay).
Who will Stokes play?
Ruby will be playing Lucy Carlyle, the newbie with exceptional psychical powers. Lucy, along with Chapman’s Anthony Lockwood and Hadji-Heshmati as George Karim, will run a psychic detention center.
Jeremiah plays Inspector Barne, while Treadaway and Christie will be playing The Golden Blade and Penelope Fittes, respectively.
What will the show be about?
As mentioned before, the show will be adapting the thriller mystery books by Jonathan Stroud of the same name.
The books and the show revolve around an adult-run organization in London, where the most brilliant young ghost-hunters journey nightly into risky confrontations with lethal spirits. Lockwood & Co. is a small startup operated by a renegade trio destined to solve a riddle that will change the path of history, irrespective of any business motive or parental control.
Who will direct the show?
Netflix has really chosen capable hands to direct the show. Attack the Block director Joe Cornish will also be bringing this project to life. Cornish exec produces alongside Nira Park and Rachael Prior.
Cornish is also known for co-writing Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn and Ant-Man.
