4 Years After Drawing Curtains, Meghan Markle Starrer, ‘Suits’ Comes on Par With Netflix’s Current Blockbuster, ‘Stranger Things’
The American streamer is currently on a high tide. While the writers’ strike has well been a headache for all the other digital platforms, Netflix knows how to keep the ball rolling. In times when fresh pieces have come to a halt, Netflix has brought its age-old classics back to its shelves. Surprisingly, the ones which were supposed to be an appetizer are currently giving tough competition to the main course. Netflix’s recently acquired decade-old Suits is now as popular as Stranger Things.
Not tired of breaking its own record, the Meghan Markle starrer, paralegal US show has now come on par with its most celebrated franchise of all times. The Duchess might have long bid a farewell to the show but her legacy is still a chef’s kiss to the American streamer. Stepping into the billionaire’s club, Suits has now accumulated nearly 18 billion minutes of viewership time for US television.

This record was formerly held by the Duffer brothers directed, sci-fi thriller from last year, reported Variety. Upon the release, Netflix original Stranger Things season 4 also garnered nearly 18 billion minutes, in 2022. Following Squid Game, the Millie Bobby Brown starrer and now Suits, are some of the few top-tier series to make it into the list.
It is also pertinent to note that Netflix acquired the streaming right for the US legal drama just a couple of months ago, in June. However, there are others who are also serving the American audience.
Which are the other series to top the Viewers’ list apart from Suits and Stranger Things?
As was reported in the same outlet, following the trail, Bluey on Disney + is the third to garner a 5 billion minutes viewership at current times. These records, however, are records of the month of July alone. The above-mentioned titles belong to the streaming category overall, as cited by Variety quoting Nielson’s list.
