The fourth ride towards the Continent is perhaps the most dramatic it has ever been, having obliged by the necessity to bid farewell to the former Geralt, Henry Cavill. Although the creators have been going to lengths to ensure a seamless transition, there is a persistent skepticism about how The Witcher 4 will actually turn out upon its release. While it is overwhelming not just because of Geralt’s recast since a lot of this installment centers on Ciri’s character development portrayed by Freya Allan, a recent revelation made by her forecasts a distance between her and Geralt.

Although Ciri and Geralt’s relationship has always been central to the plot of The Witcher, these new details raise eyebrows about what this season truly has in store besides jaw-drops.

At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, Freya Allan revealed to Screen Rant that Ciri will not encounter Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt in The Witcher 4. Despite being the penultimate season where Hemsworth debuts as Geralt of Rivia, succeeding Henry Cavill, Ciri is more focused on moving on from her past with Geralt. This season is crucial for Ciri as she adopts a new identity, Falka, and aims to “forget about Geralt”.

Allan noted that although Hemsworth is a “really nice guy,” she has not had the opportunity to see his work as they do not share any scenes, so there is no on-screen interaction between them. Nonetheless, she acknowledged the positive feedback she has heard about Hemsworth’s portrayal and, like her fans, is eager to see what he brings to the role. However, now that Ciri has begun identifying herself as Falka, the transition is visible both in her words and action.

Not to forget, Ciri also has a makeover this season that has been making Allan feel anew.

In an interview with Collider at San Diego Comic-Con, Freya Allan discussed Ciri’s dramatic transformation in the upcoming installment of The Witcher. While the tattoo, hair makeover, and costume had already been teased through set photos, Allan added more details, noting that the final look will blend elements from both the books and the games.

Allan, who has been deeply involved in the costume design, aimed to create a mix of both influences. What excited her most was the feeling of becoming a “different Ciri” each time she donned the new costume, hair, and makeup. Although Allan acknowledged that this portrayal of Ciri is unprecedented, she described the experience as a thrilling journey full of dramatic changes leading up to The Witcher 4.
