After the enormous success of The Witcher video game, Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel series sprouted into a massive franchise. Netflix adapted the thrilling saga and created a beautiful show starring Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalorta as the lead. While all the actors justified their characters as perfectly as they could, the British actor fairly embodied his character. The only reason he could become one with his character was his acute understanding of the entire saga from the original books and the video games.

The Enola Holmes actor has often admitted to being a huge nerd when it comes to video games. And with the show, Cavill fulfilled his fantasy through these 5 scenes from video games in the Netflix Original.

The Netflix series drew close parallels to scenes from video games. Henry Cavill always showed his respect for the source material, along with his passion for video games as well. In these 5 scenes, he brought a reality to his dream.

The Bathtub Scene

Despite some obvious dissimilarities, the Bathtub scene from the show’s first season took inspiration from the iconic opening scene of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. However, the major discrepancy here was the entire purpose of using the bathtub. Nevertheless, the mere recreation of the scene from the video game made fans extremely happy.

Moreover, the use of the scene in the show changed the dynamic of the scene from the video game. But it also showcased how the show incorporated the essence of the original source, making Cavill’s dream come true.

Geralt’s ‘The Less Evil” Speech

Amidst one of the greatest Geralt moments, his speech about evil being evil regardless of the degree in season 1 is originally from the book series, which also has its significant place in video games. In the video game, the White Wolf delivered his famous monologue to a group of bandits preparing to hang a woman for suspected witchcraft. This monologue is so famous and significant that it was included in the video games as well as in the show.

In the series, Geralt answers to Stregobor, who indicated to kill Renfri. The quote goes like this: “Evil is evil… lesser, greater, middling. It’s all the same. If I have to choose between one evil and another, then I prefer not to choose at all.”

The Fight with Foltest’s Striga

This is one of Geralt’s best fights with a striga who turns out to be the cursed daughter of King Foltest of Temeria. This fight is one of the closest adaptations from the game. In many ways, the fight happened exactly like it did in the game. For instance, when Geralt climbs into the Striga’s tomb and seals himself there with a sign until the morning.

Notably, the way Geralt constructed the strategy to fight Striga is similar in all the modes of the narrative.

Iconic Geralt-Ciri Moment

At the end of season 1 of The Witcher, when Ciri finds Geralt and runs toward him, is exactly the same scene in the game. This scene happens in the flashback in the games. However, the way Cirilla runs and jumps into Geralt’s arm is the exact recreation of the scene that happened in the video game. Certainly, there is an obvious dissimilarity between the two modes, which is of environment.

In the game, they both meet in a grassy meadow scatted with ornate spring flowers. But in the show, they reunite in a forest, running through the trees, followed by crashing into each other’s arms. This is one of the iconic Geralt-Ciri moments in the entire show.

Cirilla’s Training In Kaer Mohren

There are striking similarities in this scene that they differ a little from the descriptions in the books. At the beginning of the game, Ciri is training on an obstacle course of sorts. She runs along a collection of wooden pegs followed by complex training material. However, the obstacle course from the show is a tad that is larger and more complex. But it looks a lot similar to the games.
