Finn Wolfhard Reveals ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Still Has a Long Way to Go Before Release
In July 2016, Netflix debuted a show set in the 1980s, set in Hawkins and following supernatural occurrences with the severity gaining prominence following a missing boy. Lead characters from that show such as Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard were hardly eleven years of age at that time when Stranger Things opened the Upside Down lore to the global audiences. Nearly eight years in, the series has gone through four seasons with its final in the tow and around much anticipation.
With the twin Hollywood strikes in 2023 delaying its production and its recent resumption, not much good news lies ahead for fans unable to keep in the hype any longer.

The last season of the teenage thriller drama aired its finale in July 2022. After two years, and despite productions on set resuming on January 8, 2024, after the delays, and actors like David Harbour and Winona Ryder making their way back, there still remains miles of a journey ahead. Playing the role of Mike Wheeler, Finn Wolfhard revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Stranger Things season five has only completed about three months of its expected nine of production.
The revelation highlights that the show will likely not release in 2024. Following the wrap of productions, the release of the last season will probably take place either in mid or late 2025. Moreover, the last season made room for a final confrontation between Brown’s Eleven and Vecna aka Henry Creel. Thus, deciding the fate of many of the show’s beloved characters.
On that note, the lead and her love interest have shown somewhat contrasting sentiments on the forthcoming closure.

In the same interview, Finn Wolfhard admitted that “It’s really crazy,” about the incoming end of Stranger Things. The Canadian actor found himself trying to “balance” the fact that he had to stay in the current scenario and deliver a performance in what could be his last time on that set. “But it’s been great,” he termed his overall experience on the show and the journey so far.
Millie Bobby Brown, on the other hand, remains “ready to say, ‘Thank you, and goodbye” to Stranger Things. The actress believed that she found all “the tools and the resources to be a better actor,” and would now try her mettle elsewhere just as the just released Damsel. However, in the end, she too, may star for the last time in the show that has seen her transition from a child actor to a Hollywood celebrity.
