Did Black Adam fail due to Dwayne Johnson’s mistake? The actor surprised everyone when DC decided to release his heavy, expensive movie despite wanting to reshape themselves. Fondly known as ‘The Rock’, Johnson even convinced Henry Cavill to hop on with his Superman cape, adding weightage to the movie. Unfortunately, things did not go as expected and instead, he earned an Arnold Schwarzenegger comparison.

An account on Twitter, James Reinhardt, director of Black Pines and a writer at CBR, posted about how Arnold Schwarzenegger was successful with Terminator, despite playing a villain. On the other hand, Johnson was adamant about turning the DC Universe’s character into a positive light. He added how this behavior of the former WWE champion cost the Black Adam franchise as well as DC. The loss also contributed to DC reconsidering all its heroes and canceling Man of Steel 2 as well.

Schwarzenegger first starred as the titular character in Terminator back in 1984. Despite the rough and tough semi-robotic character, he remains one of the most favorite inspirational actors today. Just like the Austrian began his career with bodybuilding, Johnson began his own with WWE before turning to movies. This has led to comparisons between the two, with people stating that the latter’s ego led to him to the unavoidable failure of his first anti-hero movie.

Agreeing with the post, fans on Twitter are backing it up by stating why Johnson’s idea to play a good character was already doomed.

Why do fans think Dwayne Johnson should have followed in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger and played a villain?

Every actor wants to ultimately become a hero. But sometimes it’s the villain who steals the show with great acting and character depth. Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker is a good example. But fans believe that Johnson’s hunger for playing a hero failed the movie and the further plans of turning it into a franchise.

A fan pointed out how Johnson actually began his career playing a notorious but likable boxer, The Rock in WWE. Another believes that Schwarzenegger cared about movies, while Johnson just wanted a character that could compete with Superman instead of Shazam.
