Landing in with the Stranger Things actor, Damsel is a 21st-century take on the damsel-in-distress theme. Remarkably, fans threw in all their support and weight as a poster detailing a tentative 2024 release date surfaced.

Playing Princess Elodie, Millie Bobby Brown also serves as an executive producer for the flick. At a time when she has expressed her interest in moving away from Stranger Things after season five and exploring new projects, Damsel rightfully serves the bill. Directed by Oscar-nominated and 28 Weeks Later’s Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the story comes in collaboration with New York Times bestselling author Evelyn Skye.

The plot revolves around the Princess having to fend her way out of a cave, home to a fire-breathing dragon. Instead of relying on a prince to come and ‘save’ her, the character trusts her own wits and will to navigate out of it. Filming began in 2022 and ended a few months later in the same year. After a few delays along the way, the movie is finally looking forward to its debut.
