The A24 drama movie will be an adaption of Federico Garcia Lorca’s 1945 play The House of Bernarda Alba.

Robbie’s LuckyChap entertainment will be producing the film with Camila Mendes as the co-producer, as reported by GVN News. Chelsey Lora will write the script for this Francisca Alegria direction. Along with Ortega and Mendes, Top Gun: Maverick actor Danny Ramirez will also be joining is confirmed to be part of the cast.

The House of Bernarda Alba is based in the 1930s period when a matriarchal family, led by Bernarda Alba, is imposed under an eight-year mourning period following her second husband’s death. Her five unmarried daughters feel the wrath of this conservative living, as cruelty ends in dramatic violence.

Robbie and Ortega were recently clicked together at the Golden Globes award. The photos now make more sense, considering that they were already a team for Alba. One fan dubbed it as Queens coming together. While others are ‘literally’ moved to tears over it.
