Fans Left in Frenzy as the First Look of Monkey D Luffy’s Costume From ‘One Piece’ Live Action Series Surfaces Online
One Piece has always been a project to look out for. Fans are no strangers to the legacy of the One Piece franchise. From being one of the most selling mangas to cementing itself as one of the big three shonen anime, the franchise’s success knows no bounds. As we all know, the franchise previously announced a new live-action adaptation on Netflix. And ever since, fans have been eager to see how the streamer plans to bring One Piece to life. After multiple rumors making the rounds, people finally have a major update as Netflix revealed Luffy’s live-action outfit.
In recent weeks Netflix Tudum has become the talk of the town again. The global event currently in Brazil gave away some huge updates about the streamer’s plans for the years. And interestingly, Twitter user OnePieceNxBr managed to capture the first glimpse of Monkey D. Luffy’s live-action costume during the event. Based on the photographs, it seems like the streamer has not brought much change to the outfit. While Netflix has retained the iconic straw hat, red vest, and blue shorts, it has surprisingly switched the sandals with shoes. Shortly after, the image took the internet by storm as fans flooded Twitter with multiple reactions.

A number of fans seemed totally unimpressed with the first look of Luffy’s costume. Surprising as it sounds, various fans used the occasion to troll the costume. While one commented, “Looks like it’s from the dollar store,” another wrote how the costume bore a strange resemblance to a farmer. Furthermore, a user even shared a hilarious GIF to react to the same.
A social media user was in awe of the costume as she commented, “That’s what you call drip.” Meanwhile, another user found the outfit very accurate to anime.
This is not the first time Netflix shared something about the project. Previously, the streamer revealed the design of the Going Merry, Straw Hat’s pirate ship.

Fans are no strangers to the hype that surrounds the release of Netflix’s action series. Furthermore, the latest costume look from the series has added fuel to the fire. While there is no specific date of release, the series is most likely to air in 2023. Interestingly, creator Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the anime, is also taking part in the production.

Many of you might not know, but Netflix promised Oda that it won’t be releasing the live-action series till he approves of it. The creator previously opened up about his feelings about working with Netflix on the live-action series. As of late, there seem to be no more updates about the upcoming series.
