Fans Grow Worried for This Major Character as ‘Stranger Things’ Creators Complete Shortlisting For First Two Episodes of the Finale
Stranger Things has become famous for killing off fan-favorite characters over the years. Every season, characters that find a special place in viewers’ hearts become the target. For instance, in season 4, when the audience fell in love with the eccentric leader of Hellfire Club aka Eddie Munson, the creators decided to kill him off. It was a peak moment that people will not forget in the years to come. With season 5 about to begin with the production, a recent update from one of the creators has worried fans about the fate of one of their beloved characters.
Ross Duffer recently turned to his Instagram to share how the short-listing of characters for first episodes is done for season 5. It featured famous funko pop dolls inspired by the characters of the show. “First two eps, shotlisting complete,” wrote the television director confirming the progress of their show. But the way collectibles were placed, fans became worried as all the characters faced forward while Max’s face was down.
The question about Max being able to survive the finale season has been haunting fans for quite a while now. The ending of season 4 did leave her alive but in a terrible condition. The beloved character already lost her vision and was braindead when Eleven checked on her. Max became an integral part of the series over the years, but when the girl sacrificed herself to save her friends, she gained a new level of respect in fans’ hearts.

Indeed, with a newfound love in the fans’ hearts, they have been waiting patiently to watch where her fate would take her in season 5. Their hopes for her survival grew when an internet poster showed her rising from the coma. Sadly, the latest tease from Ross Duffer has again stirred the internet and fans are anxious if this was a hint about her fate in the finale.
Fans concerned about Max’s future in Stranger Things
Many fans of the horror drama shared the screenshot of Duffer’s story on X, formerly Twitter, expressing their concern for Max. While some felt she might be in danger, others asked if it was a tease for one episode. Fans are failing to wrap their heads around this sudden tease because they do not want to lose another beloved character in the ultimate moments of the show.
Besides this, some fans also made an assumption that the pairing season 5 would depict pointing out the way they placed collectibles. Some got excited about Byler’s union, and others were happy for Eleven, joining Hopper and Joyce. Since the penultimate season showed the gang scattered around other continents, they made groups who would fight together.

While it is not known yet what it means, the Duffer Brothers earlier confirmed that they will focus on the main characters. This makes one thing for sure the town of Hawkins will stand strong against Vecna’s wrath for one last time. Until that time arrives, fanatics can hope that they do not end up losing Max just like other characters.
