Netflix has officially announced that the upcoming sixth season of Cobra Kai will be the last in the series. This season, which has been building upon The Karate Kids storyline, is anticipated to conclude on a high note. The plot will revolve around a world karate championship taking place in Japan. Familiar faces like Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence will reunite with rivals and friends from Okinawa. With the inclusion of actors from the original films, fans can look forward to a nostalgic journey. However, there are some obstacles to overcome.
The fans expected the next season to premiere sometime in 2023 or early 2024. Recent news, unfortunately, revealed that SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood have temporarily paused production for the season. Even so, the strikes may even deal a blow to the Fan Expo itself, adding salt to the wounds of fans. Along with several hugely anticipated Hollywood blockbusters, such as Deadpool 3, Cobra Kai has joined the list of delayed projects, including Netflix’s other famed show Stranger Things. The recent strikes are in protest to inconsistent pay and welfare concerns among others by the actor’s union.
