Fans Are Loving the Breathtaking Visuals of the New Chinese Anime ‘Left-Hand Layup’

From fine stop-motion animation to 2D and ultimately 3D, geniuses around the world mixed sketch, color, and a pinch of magic to bring their drawings to life. However, East Asia was burning the midnight oil to make something as regal, however astonishingly unique with Animes. The anime fanbase has found comfort in the manga adaptions and is hardly nudged by new releases. However, Left-Hand Layup and its visuals have managed to garner not only the attention of anime fans but also the global audience.

Throughout the years, anime have earned themselves a fanbase with the devotion akin to that of a cult and expectations as high as that of the emperor in Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale. Such an audience has been blown away by a new Chinese anime centered around basketball.

Left-Hand Layup has fans lining up thanks to its visuals

The anime released in February 2023 in China all packed with promising plot and beautiful visuals. Left-Hand Layup owes its stunning animation to the Chinese animation studio, Heart & Soul. While the anime is yet to release outside of China, the studio dropped sneak peaks from Left-Hand Layup and fans are smitten by the quality of visual it holds.

There has been increased production in anime ever since Netflix caught hold of the secret recipe. However, sports anime are still comparatively rare. And a sports anime with top-notch visuals was great news for fans.

What is the plot of Zuo Shou Shang Lan?

Better known as Zuo Shang Lan in Chinese, this anime has more than its visuals going on for it. This anime follows a high schooler by the name of Xu Xingze, who has his heart set on becoming a basketball player. Xu Xingze is left-handed. Hence, the left hand in the title. Holding Xu Xingze and his godly speed at the crux, the anime focuses on his entire team.

Directed by Xie Zhongli, fans can go in to watch this anime with blind trust thanks to his previous ventures, which includes working as an animator for staple animes such as Attack on Titans and Crystal Sky of Yesterday. As of now, this sports anime is not broadcasted globally. However, with the growing noise around its stunning visuals, its only a matter of time before a broadcasting network purchases the rights of Left-Hand Layup.
