It has been over a year since fans got to witness the chasm between the real and parallel worlds yawning wide right in front of their eyes. Stranger Things season 4’s cliffhanger left everyone on edge, intensifying the suspense and fear about the impending doom in the next installment. Ever since the fourth season’s conclusion, fans have been tapping their feet in anticipation of the climactic showdown between Vecna and the Hawkins gang. However, the relentless production hiccups have been inflating fans’ impatience to an unnecessary degree. 

After months of delay, a fan page confirmed on X, formerly Twitter, that the filming of the coming-of-age sci-fi show would take between six to eight months. Just a few days after this confirmation, the verified X fan page, Stranger News, shared a fan poster of the final season. For the first time, the poster marked a change by placing another actor in the spotlight, instead of Millie Bobby Brown. Max Mayfield, played by Sadie Sink, took center stage on the poster. 

In the fourth season, Sadie Sink’s character became one of the most standout figures on the show. Fans still can not shake the memory of her flying in the sky while being under Vecna’s influence. After seeing Sink’s acting prowess and her expanded character arc on the show, no one would even raise an eyebrow if she ended up becoming the main character in season five. 

As soon as the fan page shared the fresh poster of Stranger Things 5, the excitement among fans went on the rise. 

Will Max outshine Eleven in Stranger Things season 5 

Stranger News captioned the poster saying, “THE RISE OF MAX. SEASON 5”, hinting at the possibility of Max taking center stage in the upcoming season. However, considering the fact that she was in a coma towards the end of season 4, it is safe to say that there will be quite a stir before she gets up from the hospital bed to save the world. And who else could serve better anchors than her friends in Hawkins? 

Some fans expressed their admiration for the protagonist, Eleven, in the comments. However, a fan also raised the question of Eleven being in the fifth season at all. 

After the fourth season, many believed that the makers would faze out Max from the show. After seeing the poster, netizens took to the comments to share their excitement about seeing Max in season 5.

A fan even took a guess about Eleven’s sister from the second season, Kali, making a comeback on the show. However, they will have to wait for at least another year to find out how Hawkin’s crew plans to take on the evil antagonist, Vecna.
