Fans Are All in Praise as Netflix Releases the First Look of the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Cast
Back in 2005, Avatar: The Last Airbender made its way to Nickelodeon as an animated series. Spanning over 5 seasons, the family show took the world by storm as it became hugely popular. However, in 2008, after an incredible run of nearly three years, the hit TV show came to an end. Since then, the fans had been reminiscing about the show’s episodes and characters. Much to the fan’s surprise, Netflix previously announced a live-action series on the popular series. Months later, it seems like we finally have a glimpse of what the characters in the series would look like.
The live-action adaptation of The Last Airbender has always been a project to look out for. Ever since the streaming platform announced the series, fans had been eager to see how Netflix brings the show to life. As the streamer returned with its global event, Tudum, it gave the fans a surprise with an exciting teaser for the upcoming live-action series. The thrilling teaser also showcased Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Shortly after the teaser surfaced online, the fans of the show stormed Twitter.

The fans could not seem to get enough of the 40-second teaser as they flooded the platform, excitedly with emojis and gifs. While a handful of users thanked Netflix for making it possible, others revealed they are ready for it. The teaser even gave the fans an idea about the release date. According to the teaser, the live-action series will be making its way to our screens in 2024. A fan seemed to be upset with the delayed release as he commented, “Bro you said 2023 come on like what.“
There were also a handful of fans who were not impressed with the upcoming live-action series on Netflix.

What will Avatar: The Last Airbender be about?
Water. Earth. Fire. Air; the Netflix live-action adaptation will take the audience through the adventures of the four worlds. The show will be set in a world divided in correspondence with the four elements. Every element will have a “Bender” that has the ability to manipulate the other elements. Moreover, the show will even feature an Avatar- a child named Aang who will bring balance to the four worlds.

The teaser also gave the fans a glimpse of the new versions of imagery from the original show. However, sadly, the fans did not get to see any shots of the cast or the environment from the live-action series.
