Among the many fictional love stories spun by Netflix, Heartstopper has endeared the most to fans through its inclusive tales and enchanting plots. After a massively successful first installment, the show returned for another season earlier this year. The one thing that has captivated the audiences the most is Charlie and Nick’s blossoming romance through Joe Locke and Kit Connor, who portray them. 

As the series makes its way towards the third season, which is currently in production, a glimpse of its lead cast from the sets has sent fans over the moon.

In an image shared by Film Updates on X (previously Twitter), Joe Locke and Kit Connor could be seen at Heartstopper’s filming location posing for a camera side-by-side. Each of the two leads was clutching the fifth installment of the Heartstopper novel series. The novel by Alice Oseman, who created the fictional world as seen in the series, was launched earlier this month on 7th December. 

For fans who had been eagerly waiting for the next chapter of the series to emerge, the click came a much-needed Christmas treat. Especially since the upcoming season will be pivotal in culminating the romantic arc of this duo’s relationship. The second season did a spectacular job of portraying Charlie’s growth. Now, the third is expected to do the same with Nick’s. 

Looking back at Heartstopper Season 2

In the exceptionally successful second season of Heartstopper, the emotional rollercoaster of a series took some unexpected turns as its characters undertook some grilling journeys of self-discovery. Meanwhile, the young love between Nick and Charlie was put through some tests as the latter struggled with body dysmorphia. While confronting societal expectations with courage, both the teen characters came a long way from their start in season one. 

Some new characters that joined the ensemble added layers of diversity and fresh perspectives to the narrative. However, Nick and Charlie might just have another grueling obstacle to overcome soon. Well, Nick may soon be separated from a younger Charlie as he makes his way to college. Whether the duo’s love will stand the test of distance and time remains to be seen in season 3.
