We all know at least one person around us who loves grotesque horror stories. They enjoy the thrill and intense atmosphere and it doesn’t affect them at all. But some people get scared and close their eyes when something horrific appears on the screen. Well, Netflix recently unveiled a teaser of one such series. Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is a series, where each episode tells a story of horror.

Everyone is familiar with the name, Guillermo del Toro. He is a well-known Mexican film director, producer, screenwriter, and author. This Academy and Oscars winner director is coming with another iconic production consisting horror and grotesque 8 stories. Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is an upcoming American horror anthology series. The project is based on the director’s short story of the same name.

This series has 8 unique horror stories that challenge the classical horror genre. Two episodes of the show are the original works by del Toro. On the other hand, different filmmakers wrote and directed other episodes. Here is the teaser:

As we see, the teaser exposes some unsettling images. The names of the episodes, the glimpse of the cast, and the thrilling effects are the sign that we are going to have a one-of-a-kind journey.

A surprising star cast in the series

Along with Andrew Lincoln, Ben Barnes, Chloe Madison, Charlyne Yi, Crispin Glover, Sebastian Roché, and David Hewlett; Harry Potter star, Rupert Grint, known as Ron Weasley, has reportedly joined the cast.

As per Netflix, the purpose of this collection of live-action stories is to challenge the traditional notion of horror. As said in the Deadline, “From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, the eight sinister tales — including two original works by del Toro — are brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by the Shape of Water filmmaker”. 

The production of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is in process. Thus, there is not much known about the release of the series. We have to wait for that. Till then, let us know what are you expecting from these new world horror stories?
