It was Cavill and his devotion to The Witcher world, which he himself was a fan of, that convinced the fans to give the series a chance. Therefore, the actor leaving The Witcher has made not just fans of the series but also gamers very sad. The actor who voiced the iconic Geralt of Rivia in the game also was “very sad” that the Man of Steel actor was departing.

What did ‘The Witcher’ voice actor have to say about Henry Cavill?

Doug Cockle is the man behind the goosebumps-rasing voice of the Geralt in the video games. He has been a part of The Witcher long before it garnered a huge global fanbase through the series on Netflix. So when he says that Henry Cavill’s departure has made him “very sad,” we should all accept the fact that it is a huge loss.

Cockle revealed on a podcast with Robert Purchese that Cavill invited him to the premiere of the show in London. “Spent an hour or two chatting about The Witcher world and being Geralt of Rivia,” said the voice actor.

Cockle also revealed how he did not know what to expect until he witnessed Cavill’s performance.

“I think he did a fabulous job as Geralt of Rivia,” Cockle believes just like the other fans. Apart from praises about Cavill’s performance, The Witcher voice actor also talked about his and Cavill’s understanding of the Geralt were very similar. “He felt the same way I do about him not being an emotionless being,” which was very evident in Cavill’s performance. As Henry Cavill leaves The Witcher, reports about Liam Hemsworth stepping in as The Geralt of Rivia have been making rounds. On what he feels about Hemsworth playing the Geralt, the voice of the Geralt had to say “He has Henry Cavill-sized shoes to fit.”
