While fans are celebrating Zendaya’s win, there are a few that have questions about her winning an award. The actress made her television debut with Disney’s sitcom Shake it Up. She made her film debut with a main role in Spider-Man: Homecoming opposite Tom Holland. Since then, she found her fame globally.
Most recently, she was cast as Rue Bennett in the Netflix series Euphoria. The series quickly became a rage amongst fans, gaining multiple nominations and good reviews. As the show succeeded, so did Zendaya’s credentials, bagging win after win. She bagged the Best Actress award in this year’s Critics Choice Awards for her role in the HBO original series. But fans have rather mixed reactions to her win.

Fans are divided on whether Zendaya deserved to win the Best Actress award for Euphoria
Rue Bennett may have won many hearts of Euphoria fans, but did Zendaya deserve a best actress award for it? The competition for the main category awards is always a tough one. In her case, the internet is divided on whether the actress deserved the award, especially considering her competitors in that category. She was in the competition alongside Christine Baranski for Good Fight, Sharon Horgan for Bad Sisters, Kelly Reilly for Yellowstone, Laura Linney for Ozark, and Mandy Moore for This is Us.

Film Updates took to Twitter to announce the news of her win. A lot of fans commented on how she deserved to win the award and much more. But one sarcastically commented “pretends to be shocked“, while the other said wondered if the awards are being given based on talent or popularity. Meanwhile, one comment claimed that the awards are likely influenced by social media. There were some funny comments as well. Since she was cast in Spiderman, one Twitter user joked about how the actress could win an Oscar for her role in the superhero movie.

Another user is worried about how the actress may win a Grammy Award if she continues like this. Euphoria is follows a young woman who is recently out of rehab and her journey to finding her place in the world. As for Zendaya, she has previously won a Golden Globe and a couple of Primetime Emmy Awards.
