Ethan Hawke and Myha’la Herrold have joined the cast of Netflix’s thriller feature Leave the World Behind along with Mahershala Ali and Julia Roberts. Directed by the creator of Mr Robot, Sam Esmail, the film is inspired by Rumaan Alam’s novel of the same name. Leave the World Behind on Netflix follows two happy families who are forced to be on a weekend trip together where they explore themes of parenthood, race, and class.

Ethan Hawke joins the cast of Leave the World Behind

Ethan Hawke, who is also to be seen in Marvel’s Moon Knight, has wrapped up the filming and the production for his upcoming film. From the trailer, we can confirm that Hawke is the anticipated villain in the Disney film. As per the reports, Moon Knight is collaborating with Blade, another comic from Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the collaboration, we can find a glimpse of Mahershala Ali as the iconic vampire hunter. So, after Leave the World Behind on Netflix, we will see both the fantastic actors, Hawke and Ali, working together.

Myha’la Herrold joins the cast

Before coming to films, Myha’la Herrold was a part of the theater industry. She has also acted primarily in the Broadway production of The Book of Mormon. Her role as Harper Stern has impressed the audience, and they want to see more of her works. She has proved herself as an amazing actress in the films like Premature, Modern Love, The Tattooed Heart, Plan B, and Industry. Aside from Leave the World Behind, she will be starring in feature films like Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, alongside Pete Davidson, Maria Bakalova, and Amandla Sternberg.

Other cast members of Leave the World Behind Netflix

Julia Robert will play the role of mother, who has rented the house, and Hawke will be Robert’s husband. Charlie Evan and Ryan Kiera Armstrong will play the role of Julia and Hawke’s children. Mahershala Ali will play the role of the homeowner and Herrold will play the role of Ali’s daughter.
