According to reports by The Direct, Emily Rudd seems to have been just as happy as her fans about One Piece being renewed for a second season. In a story to her Instagram account, the actress posted a picture of herself with the caption, “I’m so happy. Thank y’all we love you so so so much.” The picture showed her with a child-like grin pasted across her face and a look of what can only be described as pure joy.

While fans and followers of the star already know that she is a huge fan of One Piece, her reaction to the latest update only confirmed that she is still a complete fangirl. The series did extremely well when it launched and even ended up in Netflix’s top 10. So the announcement of a second season did not surprise everyone. Apart from the renewal, fans also got a special message from the creator of the manga series, Eiichiro Oda.

On 15 September, the One Piece fandom received a special announcement from Eiichiro Oda on YouTube. The announcement confirmed that season 2 received a green light. The news came shortly after the eight-episode series ended up raking in stellar viewing numbers and even broke a few records. While it may have been a little predictable that the series would be renewed, the excitement became all too real when the news actually broke.

With the confirmation of season 2, many were also hoping for there to be a hint about the release date. But even with the script and renewal confirmed, there has been a halt in production due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes. The announcement also mentioned that Season 2 would not be ready any time before late 2024 or even 2025.
