ELVES Trailer: A Christmas Series That Is Not So Christmassy Coming On Netflix
The last three months of the year are all connected with the themes of horror, fantasy, and Christmas, respectively. It is always great fun to watch movies that tell the stories around these themes as well. But we never really expect all these in one single tale, do we? Well, get ready because Netflix has decided to bring the horrors of October, the fantasy of November, and the Christmas feels of December all in one single series called Elves. The very first trailer of the thriller is here.
The Danish language show is set to send chills down your spine with some amazing telling of the Nordic myths. Set in the country of Denmark, it will go on to explore the rich mythology of the region, with some horror of course.

The trailer starts off on a rather typically happy note, with a small family inside of a car singing Christmas songs; not realizing it may just go all south from here. The family is off to a remote island hoping to spend some alone time to try to connect with each other while they are celebrating Christmas. They end up in a distant area near a forest. Tourists barely visit this island thanks to these wicked creatures called Elves.
The small island is controlled by a very religious community living in a balance with these rather evil creatures. Later in the trailer, the young girl from the family rescues a very peculiar-yet-cute baby elf and, of course, brings it home. However, the girl soon realizes that a good intention does not always turn into a good deed; turns out now the elves are out hunting for humans since this girl took their baby home. The trailer is full of chaos, horror, and a certain nervousness; the weird sinister music that plays in the background just adds to the anxiety this trailer gives.

Tesha Crawford, Director of Netflix International Originals Northern Europe when talking about this show said, “There are a lot of reasons why we are excited about this new Danish production. First off, teaming up again with our long term partners at Miso Film – who have proven to be such great storytellers. Secondly, tapping into the local myths that have always such great resonance in the Nordic region and being able to transform this into a modern day Christmas story- with a little touch of horror.”
