The last time Ben Affleck and Matt Damons were seen working together was in the year 2023 for the sport drama, Air. As Netflix announced recently, they are teaming back again this year for a crime thriller, titled RIP. The movie would be written and directed by Joe Carnahan, and the cast, Affleck and Damons, are producing the project themselves through their production company, Artists Equity, which also produced Air last year.
While Affleck and Damon have collaborated several times, they have acted together in only a handful of films, including Good Will Hunting, Dogma, The Last Duel, and Air. Currently, there is no available information on the plot or release date for their upcoming collaboration. However, filming is scheduled to begin this fall. RIP was not Netflix's initial plan for Affleck and Damon.
Netflix had originally targeted a different project starring the Hollywood heavyweights, which ultimately did not materialize.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were initially producing and acting in the crime thriller Animals. The movie was supposed to be directed by the Hypnotic actor himself, and Damon was going to star in it. The project had also finalized Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray as scriptwriters. However, due to some scheduling conflicts, the venture got pushed back in production, making room for RIP.
Animals focused on the kidnapping of the son of a mayoral candidate. Along with Damon, Jennifer Garner was also rumored to have been cast for the film. While Animals could not come through, RIP is set to reunite childhood friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's creative genius on screen together.
