Jason Bateman alongside Will Arnett and Sean Hayes started a podcast called Smartless where the actors invite top Hollywood stars and reveal never heard stories about their life. And while the podcast became an instant hit for obvious reasons, Bateman revealed in his interview that he thought it was a “dumb idea!”

The podcast catering to its title ‘Smartless‘ does not have any proper format. Each week only one of the actors gets to act as a host. The fun doesn’t stop there because the other two have no idea who their guest is going to be. The podcast has some hilarious episodes with David Letterman, President Joe Biden, Kumail Nanjiani, and many more. However, when they were first starting off, Jason Bateman revealed that he thought it was a “dumb idea!” Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, the actor said “The whole podcast is insane. I don’t know what we are doing“.

One of the many reasons for the podcast being a hit is the fact that all three of them have been friends for a long time. Will Arnett and Jason Bateman were also co-stars in Arrested Development.

The authentic format of the podcast showcases the hilarious and fun bond that the three actors share. But Jason Bateman cannot seem to wrap his head around the fact that people pay to just watch “three idiots” talk.
