Stranger Things has come a long way from Mike Wheeler’s basement where he and his friends played Dungeons and Dragons. Seeing this depiction, some fans speculated if all the events of the series were just a game and none of it was real. Speaking to Metro UK, the Duffer Brothers ruled out this theory at the premiere of their stage play, The First Shadow. Matt Duffer laughed at these rumors and joked, “‘That is correct. That is the ending…. No.’”
His brother Ross joined in and explained that the show might feel like a dream to the audiences. But he assured that was not how the horror drama would end. “‘We’ve known where we’ve been going for a while. And we feel comfortable with it; hopefully, it satisfies everyone. We’ll see,'” he added. Despite affirming fans, they can rely on them for the conclusion of season 5. They have dropped cryptic hints and ominous teasers, fueling speculation and anxiety.
Last month, Ross Duffer dropped a massive hint about Max in season 5 through Funko pops, which left fans restless.

The Stranger Things team has been working hard to prepare for the fifth and final season. Though they have kept the plotlines under wraps, co-creator of the show, Ross Duffer, dropped a hint on Instagram. The story showed creators plotting out a shot using the Funko pops of the main characters. The video showed Robin Buckley, Nancy Wheeler, Joyce Byers, Eleven, and Will Byers grouped. However, they left Max lying with her face down.
Fans instantly took notice of this move by the creators and worried for her safety in the finale. Season 4 left several major plotlines dangling, like the lingering threat of Vecna, and the Upside Down’s true nature. Thus, it’s no wonder all these unanswered questions have fans perched on the edge of their seats, leaving them to imagine the worst of everything.
