Duffer Brothers Give Major Update About ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5, as Writers’ Strike Halts Any Further Steps for the Netflix Series
All the writers around Hollywood are gathering to support the strike, asking for a potential raise. It has been days since the strike started and writers left their desks to come on the streets. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers failed to come to an agreement with the Writers Guild of America. Following this, every late-night talk show and other fan favorite found themselves delayed because of the strike. Now Stranger Things is also joining the likes of it as Duffer Brothers put it on pause just prior to the season 5 filming.
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things was set for filming in the upcoming months. However, the co-creators and co-showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer, recently announced a halt on production. The duo stated through their official Twitter account that the filming will be delayed because of the labor unrest. Showing their support for the strike, they added: “We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then — over and out. #wgastrong”

Fans have long been waiting for the final showdown between the Hawkins gang and Vecna. Unfortunately, it appears that the audience would have to wait longer than they expected. At this time, one can only hope that the matter resolves and authorities come to an agreement with the writers. The guild is seeking viewership transparency from streamers, a hike in wages, and protection from the use of artificial intelligence.
Last year, Netflix confirmed that season 5 will be the last season for the fan-favorite show, but this isn’t the end of this massively followed franchise.

While the sci-fi drama is saying goodbye to the fandom with season 5, Duffer Brothers have already planned out new content for them. The duo is working on bringing spin-offs, sequels, and even anime shows based on this supernatural world.
Not to mention, fans will get to watch this backstory of Henry Creel on stage at the end of this year. Stranger Things 5 was expected to premiere in 2024 on Netflix. However, according to the current state, people can expect a delay in that too.
