Hardly in the chronicles of Netflix’s history has there been a show as eagerly anticipated as the Duffer Brother-created series, Stranger Things. The coming-of-age series had the unique quality to strike a chord with people of all demographics, securing its place as the platform’s premier show. The show blends intense gore and suspense with the heartwarming innocence of its characters, which makes it a captivating viewing experience. Amid the anticipation of the final showdown between the Hawkins gang and the humanoid monster, the makers added fuel to the fire.
It has been over a year since fans got a peek at the face-off between the monster-hunting teenagers and Vecna. Owing to the production delays, the ultimate showdown’s anticipation grew considerably. Adding to it, the Duffer Brothers recently provided a small insight into their preparations for the next season, but with a twist. Ross Duffer shared a video on his Instagram story, mapping out a scene from the final season of Stranger Things with Funko pops.

The 39-year-old captioned the story by saying, “Shortlisting with Funkos”. The fan pages then circulated the video on X, formerly Twitter, triggering a flurry of fan theories. This video from Ross Duffer came a month after the release of the new wave of Stranger Things Funko Pops. These pop figures dug deeper into the fourth installment of the sci-fi horror series, with new figures of characters holding things like weapons.
After seeing the video, fans took over the social media platform with their own theories, taking their cues from the Funko video.
Crazy fan theories for Stranger Things season 5
There is no shortage of fan speculations regarding what the makers will unfold in the forthcoming and final season of the Millie Bobby Brown starrer. However, the Duffer brother’s video sparked new and interesting theories, which, if true, could bring the next season to a whole new dimension. One such theory is the introduction of “rakes”, which is another deadly humanoid monster that possesses the ability to teleport itself.

Fans also voiced their concerns about why Steve, played by Joe Kerry, looked “dead”. Ahead of the fourth season’s release, fans became increasingly anxious about the rumors regarding Steve’s death. However, the babysitter king survived the treacherous creatures in the parallel realm.

Some even questioned why Lucas, played by Caleb McLaughlin, was not a part of the scene. They questioned whether this meant that in this scene (and a majority of the season) he would be in the hospital beside Max (Sadie Sink).
With Lucas out of this scene does that mean for part of the season he’ll stay in the hospital with Max?

Fans also pointed out Will Byers’ hair, which is the only thing that remained constant throughout the four seasons. While they may not be huge fans of his dorky hairstyle, as per speculations, Will, played by Noah Schnapp, would regain prominence in the final run. However, the truth behind these theories and speculations will only get confirmation when the much-loved show explodes onto the small screens.
