Hugh Jackman plea Academy to not shortlist Ryan Reynolds for Oscars in a new video
Hugh Jackman shared a video on Wednesday asking the Academy to not nominate his Deadpool 3 costar under the category of Best Original Song. Ryan Reynolds, who starred opposite Will Ferrell in the Apple TV+ movie Spirited, has been shortlisted for “Good Afternoon” song in the film. The actor praised the Christmas comedy that he watched with his family but he doesn’t want to listen to him bragging about it for a year.
“But please, from the bottom of my heart, do not validate Ryan Reynolds,” joked the 54-year-old star. Jackman also said it would be insufferable for him if Reynolds gets selected in the best song category, since he has to spend a year with his frenemy to shoot Wolverine-Deadpool team-up. Therefore, it would become a big problem if the Canadian actor gets nominated for the Oscars.
