The film industry has a handful of actors and actresses who age like fine wine. Malaysian star, Michelle Yeoh is certainly one of them. At 60, not only has she outdone many other actresses of her era, but has also strived forward to continue playing marvelous roles to this day. The ageless superstar is currently one of the frontrunners for the best actress Oscar for Everything Everywhere All at Once

Following up on the same, a slew of interviews had an opportunity to sit with the actress lately. Among them, The Hollywood Reporter managed to get some prime takeaways from the star’s future plans. In the annual roundtable discussion, Yeoh revealed the one role she never wants to play, at least not anytime soon.

Michelle Yeoh does not want to play this character

The star sat with the publication after her fame skyrocketed recently for her iconic role. In the course of the interview, Michelle Yeoh gave an insight into the type of roles she has been offered to play. She stressed how she has been avoiding playing grandmother roles altogether.

Upon asking, Yeoh replied, “don’t put me in that box already” in a funny gesture. Although it seemed like a joke, the star was quite iron headed about it. She further described how her roles have shifted from the main character to play their mother or auntie.

Discussing the same, she revealed she was once offered a grandmother role recently. However, predictably she withdrew from it, saying, “No. Walking away.” Yeoh has always been the slayer of action-pack sequences in movies. Although she is 60, her passion for fighting scenes has not faded away. Hence, it is understandable why grandmotherhood has not gone down well with the actress.

Michelle Yeoh has two more thriller and adventurous series in the coming years. As per Google records, the actress is in for the 2024 Avatar and for the 2026 installment of the franchise as well.
