Barbie Ferreira was one of the most talked-about yet underrated young stars of the year 2022. When season two of her breakout show Euphoria came out, she once again got into the news for being a dynamic character in the show. However, with the hyped-up season 3 of Euphoria, it seems like the 26-year-old will be parting ways.

The rumors of the New York-based star leaving the show were out last year. She played one of the most major roles of Kat Hernandez in the show. Ferreira recently appeared on the famous Armchair Expert podcast of actor Dax Shepard, where she spoke about her character while addressing the rumors of her leaving the show. Ferreira has accepted that she will no longer be a part of Euphoria. The reason she gave for her exit is, “I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend.”

Last year there were rumors that she got into an argument with the makers and stormed off the set. However, Barbie Ferreira said on the podcast that she did not walk off out of anger. The reason she left was that she sprained her ankle and went to get an X-ray. In her defense, she said, “Don’t believe everything you read.” What else did the Nope star say about her character in the show?

The other reasons Ferreira did not want to be in ‘Euphoria season 3’

While her character got a dazzling spotlight in the first season of the show, it was somewhat sidelined in the second season. While the show uplifted the race of almost every character in its second season, Kat’s character was the one who did not explore much. It somehow got lost in the spotlight of Maddy Perez, with whom she has been best friends since the beginning.

The 26-year-old accepted that her leaving the show was a mutual decision between her and the makers. As her storyline did not have any fuel left to it, it was best for her to move on. Moreover, she accepted that the shooting of the show takes about nine months and she cannot commit to other projects during that. Hence, it gives her yet another reason to back out.

She recently got into the news again for her upcoming project with Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery. Both of them are working on a remake of a 1978 horror film.
