The Breakfast Club
Still the reigning queen in John Hughes cinematic universe, Molly Ringwald starred in The Breakfast Club in 1985. Contrary to its name, the movie itself does not have anything to do with breakfasts. When you join high school, it goes unsaid that you need to find a place for yourself in a group. Akin to how movies have genres, high schools have groups. The nerds, the athletes, the princesses, the criminals, and the basketcases.
The Breakfast Club follows what happens at all-day detention with one member from each of the versatile cliques present. The flick turned out to be a fan favorite and for all the right reasons. Decades have passed but Molly Ringwald’s love for coming-of-age stories definitely hasn’t. After returning from her long acting hiatus, Molly Ringwald blessed us all and also The Kissing Booth franchise with her presence. For the unversed, The Kissing Booth is a popular romantic comedy movie. Written and directed by Vince Marcello, the movie follows a high school student Elle.
