In a post on X (formerly Twitter), it was revealed that Dominic West, the charming actor who stopped hearts as King Charles III in the series, has been nominated for a Golden Globe. This is his third nomination overall. However, it is his first nomination while being a part of the Royal family’s story. He has been nominated for Best Television Male Actor in a Drama Series

So far, he has been nominated before for his roles in The Affair and The Hour. Given the actor’s brilliant performance in the show, it comes as no surprise that he has been nominated for the third time. However, while his acting might be on point, the 54-year-old was not always too certain about his decision to take on the role of the senior royal family member.

Although the world seems to have thought he did an outstanding job as King Charles in The Crown, West once had to overcome “imposter syndrome” to take over the role.

While he auditioned, got the role, and began getting into character, Dominic West did not believe he was the right fit for it. Thankfully, he decided otherwise or he might have missed out on the possibility of winning a Golden Globe.

Although he may have initially been uncertain about playing the King of England, he changed his mind when he realized that he liked the things that he said. Ultimately, his liking of the character and the script for The Crown were the things that ended up drawing him to play the character.
