“Disrespectful outcry will never…” – James Gunn Claps Back at Hateful Trollers Following Henry Cavill DCU Exit

Change always brings a little discomfort with it. As the entire world is witnessing a massive change in the DC Studios, many Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot fans are not happy with it. As we all know now that Cavill will not reprise the role of Superman despite making a comeback in Black Adam. He even shot a cameo for The Flash film but we will not see it in the final cut of the movie. However, James Gunn, who was quiet about the whole atmosphere till now, finally answered everyone.

When The Witcher actor came back to the DC Universe, his fans were excited to see him wearing the Superman cape once again. Everyone was hopeful about the sequel to Man of Steel as well, including the actor himself. However, it will not happen because Gunn and Safran are planning something else for Superman. And Gunn opened up about the changes to his Twitter and Instagram posts.

James Gunn justified his reasons for not recasting Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot

It is true with great roles come greater responsibilities. As James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DC Studios, they are responsible for the consequences, too. They took up the challenge of rebooting the universe and giving it a new direction. While doing that, they have made many people inside the studio and fans very upset. The new boss addressed the issue and said he and Peter were aware some people would be unkind to them. He also added their choices for the DCU were solely based on their belief in what would be the best for the universe. “Disrespectful outcry will never, ever affect our actions,” wrote Gunn.

Although Gun didn’t mention any names but concluded his statements by taking a conscious note of the haters. He responded to the haters and said, “No one loves to be harassed or called names – but, to be frank, we’ve been through significantly worse.” The new director also said the negative outcomes would never affect their choices. For the betterment of the DC Universe, they knew they had to make some obvious, and some not-so-obvious, choices, too. The new boss said despite the disrespectful comments and trolls, their job as artists and custodians in helping to shape the future of the DCEU would always mean more to them.
