In 2016, Markle attended a Build event in New York City. During the interaction,
the host Donna Freydlin asked the actress about her opinion on social media.
Speaking about the impact of social media, the former actress pointed out a

“I only know (Emily) through Twitter. I knew she was coming because I saw it on
social media. She’s going on a trip soon to Costa Rica to do some aid work
because she said that my UN stuff inspired her,” Meghan said during the event,

Meanwhile, to praise Emily for her efforts, Meghan wrote a letter for her, which
she brought to the event. The American star went down the stage to meet her
young fan and handed her the letter.
