Netflix has released the much-awaited season five of the hit television drama The Crown. The series focuses on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and the fifth season is deemed as the most controversial as it talks about now King Charles III and Princess Diana’s divorce. It also highlights the death of Diana and the impact it had on Prince Harry and Prince William. Meanwhile, fans were also curious to see if the show will talk about the royal school photo calls that were massively criticized by Meghan Markle a few days back.

In an interview earlier this year, Meghan Markle reflected on why it is better for her son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor to do his schooling in California and not Britain. The former American actress believes that being in the United Kingdom she would not have been able to pick Archie up from the school due to at least 40 photographers hounding her. Markle revealed that having a problem with the royal school photo calls makes her a strong parent who is always looking forward to protecting her child. 

Is Meghan Markle right about the royal photo call tradition? 

The fifth season of The Crown confirmed the royal tradition of school photo calls as described by Meghan Markle. There is a scene in the Netflix drama that showcases Princess William all ready to take up the big step in his life by becoming a boarder at Eton College. Before starting with the first day, the royal prince posed for pictures with the paparazzi standing outside the college. There was also a family photo with Prince William, Prince Harry, then Prince Charles and Princess Diana in the frame.

Further, as per tradition, Prince William was also clicked while signing the Eton College Entrance register. Senan West is portraying the future King in The Crown. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, also had a royal photo call two months back.

The three royal children posed for the shutterbugs before attending their first day. It was the first day in the new school for George, Charlotte, and Louis as the Prince and Princess of Wales made the Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Castle their new adobe.
