A lot has already been said about the feud between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle that took place before the royal wedding in May 2018. Back then, the tabloids suggested that Markle made her to-be sister-in-law cry while discussing the bridesmaid dresses. The Princess of Wales was actively involved in the preparation, as her daughter, Princess Charlotte, was one of the bridesmaids. However, the Duchess cleared the air during the Oprah Winfrey interview in March 2021.

In the bombshell interaction, Meghan Markle revealed that she was the victim and not the guilty one in the fiasco. It was Middleton who made the former American actress cry just a week before the wedding. As per Page Six, in his memoir, Prince Harry made fresh revelations as he dived into the details of the much-talked-about incident. Kate Middleton had an argument with Meghan Markle on the phone

As mentioned by Prince Harry in Spare, there was some problem with the fitting of Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress. Less than a week before the wedding, Kate Middleton told Markle about her daughter’s dress being “too big, long, and baggy.” The Princess of Wales also mentioned that her second child “burst into tears when she tried it on.” Meghan Markle understood the issue and told Middleton to bring Charlotte to the Palace where a tailor was waiting to make the altercations for all the bridesmaids. 

However, Kate Middleton refused the proposition and wanted her daughter’s dress to be restitched from the scratch. She had the backing of her designer Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton in the argument. Narrating the episode, Prince Harry revealed that fulfilling Princess’ request was not possible as the wedding was just four days away. He also admitted seeing Markle on the floor with tears following the altercation.

Meanwhile, the future Queen consort realized her mistake the following day and visited the tailor with Charlotte. She also apologized to Meghan Markle with a flower bouquet and a card.
