The Sussex royals claimed that things started going downhill, with the media following their first pregnancy announcement. The couple believes that their first royal tour to Australia changed things terribly in the Palace. Prince Harry also accused his brother, Prince William, of planting fake stories about Markle after being threatened by her popularity among the British people.

In the docuseries, the Duke and Duchess stressed on how the institution was never ready to take a stand for Meghan Markle. The Palace always told them to ignore the tabloid stories no matter how vicious they were. The royal couple also revealed not getting permission to fight a legal suit against the media houses for maligning Markle’s reputation with fake stories. Meanwhile, some fans have linked the former actress’ mudslinging with the rumors of Prince William’s extramarital affair.

Twitter stands with Meghan Markle

In 2019, there were strong rumors of Prince William cheating on his wife, Kate Middleton. Many in the royal circle believed that the Prince had an extramarital affair with Middleton’s friend Rose Hanbury. The news faded out after some months, but it keeps popping up in the media now and then. Notably. Hanbury has a close association with the royal family, as she is the wife of the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley. A section of Twitterati believes that the Palace is aware of the affair since 2019. However, to save the Prince of Wales from public humiliation, they decided to use Meghan Markle as a scapegoat.

In case you do not know, rumors of Prince William cheating on Kate Middleton surfaced a few months back as well. A gossip Instagram page called DeuxMoi ran a story about the affair being an open secret in London. As per the page, the Princess of Wales is well aware of the scandal. Neither Wales nor the institution has ever reacted to the extramarital affair speculations.
