When it was announced that Season 5 of Stranger Things would be its last, Brown was asked in several interviews how she felt about that. Well, since she confessed that she was “ready to wrap up” the series, many wondered if she had left the show already. However, this was not the case. The Enola Holmes actress simply felt glad to be ‘graduating’ from her character into something new.
The show’s makers clarified that it ended since its story was ready for conclusion. Although grateful for all the fame the show had brought her, Brown now wanted to “create stories” that resonated with her. This is also understandable considering how she has spent almost a decade portraying Eleven. So, Millie Bobby Brown did not abandon the show, but was relieved to be moving forward from it.
As for the new ‘stories’ she talked about, there are plenty for her fans to look forward to.
