Both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are royal daughter-in-laws, married to the children of King Charles III. However, there is a lot of difference between the two. Undoubtedly, Middleton stands at a higher position in the family, as she is the future Queen Consort, while her husband, Prince William, will be the next King of the United Kingdom. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, on the other hand, only hold the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. 

Meanwhile, there has been a disparity shown by the royal family as well when it comes to the distribution of heirlooms. Kate Middleton has access to Queen’s vault for all the royal jewels and gems. However, the same is not the case with Meghan Markle, who has not been bestowed with any significant royal ornaments.

Royal expert draws a comparison between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s earrings

The royal expert Daniela Elser believes that during her recent outing on the annual Remembrance Day Service at The Cenotaph, Kate Middleton sent a painful message to her California-based sister-in-law. The Princess of Wales was spotted wearing the pearl and diamond drop earrings that were gifted to her by the late monarch. 

Notably, Meghan Markle was also gifted a pair of earrings by Queen Elizabeth that she donned at the latter’s funeral. However, there is a vast difference in the worth of the two ornaments because, apparently, size does matter and the history and significance matter as well. 

“Kate’s pair are honking great pieces that on anyone else you would assume are plastic fakes they are so large. Meghan’s pair, while elegant and a very thoughtful gift from the late nonagenarian, are comparatively tiddly,” Elser said as mentioned by Marca.

Further, Daniela Elser claimed that the Duchess of Sussex does not own any of the royal heirlooms. The only significant ornament she has ever worn was during her royal wedding when she borrowed Queen Mary’s bandeau tiara from the monarch. However, Meghan Markle inherited certain pieces of jewelry that belonged to Princess Diana.
