Netflix’s You is one of those shows that made us fall in love with the anti-hero to an extent that could be called unhealthy. The release of the latest season of the show ensured that we would root for Joe Goldberg for the fourth time. At one point, the character of Joe Goldberg seems undefeatable. However, there is another potential character who can give a tough fight to this beloved Netflix serial killer.

Remember Dexter Morgan from Dexter, a show that made us fall in love with yet another killer? The show debuted in 2006 and ran for eight long seasons until 2013. Morgan’s character had only one thing in common with Goldberg’s: killing people. However, unlike Joe, he did not do it for his protection or for his own gains. Recently, a question popped up on Twitter asking, “Dexter Morgan vs Joe Goldberg. Who you taking?” and surprisingly, people had answers.

The specialty of You is its brilliant script, along with Penn Badgley, that helps us escape the real world and travel with the anti-hero altogether. And the same is with Dexter, a forensic technician by day and a criminal killer by night, who reels us into a world where there are still people who fight for the good. Hence, when fans were asked to choose one, it seemed like a real debate, although it was not.

When you look at the two characters, you know that they would go to any lengths to kill someone. However, the key difference between them is their tendencies; while Dexter Morgan mostly kills for good, Joe mostly kills to protect himself. Although the question was, who would fans prefer to take with them to kill if they had an option?

Not so surprisingly, almost all the fans went with Morgan, and they had various reasons for that.

Some said that Joe gets lucky most of the time, while Morgan plans his murders carefully. One of the fans had a solid argument, saying that Dexter will not panic in the situation like Joe mostly does. A fan even projected the possibility that Joe might actually be Harrison Morgan, the son of Dextor.
