Twitter witnessed Hugh Jackman talking to someone (presumably Ryan Reynolds) on his laptop about Deadpool on December 14th when the actor posted a video. During his conversation, the actor shared how he recently watched the first installment of the Deadpool that made him realize his mistake.

The clip also made a shocking revelation that the 54-year-old star was asked to appear in this menacing superhero film. However, he declined the offer at that time, which he now regrets after having watched the first 20 minutes of Deadpool. The movie left him thinking, “Damn it, what have I done?

Apparently, the Les Misérables star could only think of the 1982 action comedy, 48 Hrs., starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy, after finishing Reynolds’ Deadpool. For the unfamiliar, directed by Walter Hill, this buddy cop film is one of the pioneers that helped jumpstart this genre in the U.S.

What would have the first film been like had Jackman agreed to feature on it? We can assume different possiblities but we will never know. Meanwhile, Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is set to release in 2024, but no information about the storyline has been disclosed.
