‘Cobra Kai’ Creator Jon Hurwitz Has Sent a Special Message for Writers Guild Association, Amidst the Strike

Netflix for all its star-studded shows and eye-catching production cannot thrive without its backbone: the writers. The same goes for the entirety of Hollywood. As the glitzy town marks its first Writer’s strike since 2007, the much anticipated season of Cobra Kai suffers. However, the showmakers, Jon Hurwitz, sends out a powerful message.

Following the Writers’ strike, the Cobra Kai writers joined the strike with a message from the show creator Jon Hurwitz. Hurwitz is best known for his work in the spin-off of The Karate Kid movies. He is also famous for the creation of Harold & Kumar. Now, the creator sends a message to the Writers Guild Association.

Jon Hurwitz officially announced the pause in movements. The American screenwriter has been with the show from the beginning when the series debuted as a YouTube original before moving on to Netflix. Hurwitz took to Twitter to inform fans of the show that Season 6 production is officially on hold. Additionally, he informed no writers will be present on the set.

The show creator shared a picture that highlighted the team effort. The show’s writers’ room saw 14 screenwriters working together to make the series as consistent as Cobra Kai.

What else do we know about Cobra Kai season 6?

The spin-off show follows up on the aftermath of the iconic movie The Karate Kid. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprised their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, respectively. As soon as the fifth season of the show got wrapped up, the showrunners revealed they had the material for the last season. However, the showrunners officially announced the beginning of the production in January.

Originally, the show was set to air on the streaming giant in 2024. With almost all the cast members coming back to the final season, fans are going to go on an exciting journey. Finally, fans will see the ending of the classic rivalry story. With John Kreese out of prison, there will be an exciting turn of events. Terry Silver got arrested in the previous season. Therefore, fans will get to see a thrilling plot featuring the heroes V/S villain in the final season of the show.
